Adult Care Workers make a positive difference when people are faced with physical, practical, social or emotional challenges. Responsibilities are varied and determined by the type of service being provided and the person supported, but often workers are based in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, a person’s own home or a clinical healthcare setting. Delivering whatever care is needed, wherever it's needed, is the guiding principle of the Adult Care Worker.

Assessment Details

This standard is assessed through a mandatory qualification, which provides full or majority coverage of the knowledge and skills.

Therefore, no additional apprenticeship assessment or involvement of an assessment organisation is required. Certification will be based on successful completion of the qualification listed in the apprenticeship standard, along with any other completion requirements.

For this standard, the mandatory qualification is the Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate.

Important Certification Information

Training providers are responsible for recording the apprenticeship grade, via the apprenticeship assessment service, which will initiate certification. This replaces the current requirement for assessment organisations to manage these steps.
